Day 01: Chiang Rai Arrival
Arrive in the mountainous northern province of Chiang Rai. Your private guide, car, and driver will meet you and transport you to Pa Sak Tong, your home for the next couple of days. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the vast five acres of manicured grounds that feature ponds, waterfalls, an organic garden and tended rice fields. Make use of your private spa, pool, steam room, and fully-equipped fitness center. Butlers, masseuses, and a resident yoga master are ready to provide service tailored to your every need and wellness regimen. Enjoy an organic made to order dinner by your private wellness chef that was trained by a world-class plant-based master chef.
Day 02: Chiang Rai Retreats - Peace and Well-being Retreat in The Mountain Begins
Get up early this morning for yoga followed by a fresh and healthy breakfast prepared by your wellness chef. Then, go on a rural guided hike. Pa Sak Tong has located next to the sleepy village of Suan Doc and the villagers are a mix of traditional farmers and hill tribes. Get a feel of the quiet life found in this fog-kissed area of Northern Thailand. Return to your villa for lunch on the balcony, followed by spa treatments. In the afternoon, visit a private elephant sanctuary where you can get up and close with these gentle giants. Walk alongside them on a jungle trail and even help them bathe in the river.
This evening, dine at Locus Food Lab at the main estate, a special experience that necessitates dinner reservations more than a month in advance. There are only two seats per night for diners to try Chef Kong’s traditional hill tribe cuisine. His curated 10-course menu is comprised of local dishes made from cultivated and foraged ingredients growing in the northern hills and cooked using traditional hill tribe wisdom. After dinner, round out the day with a trip to the Chiang Rai night bazaar to meet the local people and see their handicrafts and wares.
Day 03: Chiang Rai
Take a guided private trek to Doi Chang, a village set 1400 meters high in the hills famous for producing some of the world’s finest Arabica coffee. Historically this area used to grow opium as a cash crop and in 1983, began growing coffee instead. The rich soil and cool weather allow for the coffee plants to flourish and take on a rich flavor.
Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee at the plantation, as well as a gourmet lunch packed by your private chef. Return to your villa to spend the rest of your afternoon how you wish. Unwind with a massage and spa treatment, meditate in the garden or by the waterfall, or get on bikes and explore the nearby rice fields and foothills. On your final night at Pa Sak Tong, enjoy a traditional Thai evening with specialty dishes and Thai dance and live music.
Day 04: Chiang Rai
Today, travel north to Phu Chaisai Mountain Resort, another renowned destination for wellness in Chiang Rai. En route, take a scenic trip to Doi Mae Salong, a dramatic mountain region that is one of the most stunning destinations in the country. Originally settled by the hill tribes, there is now also an ethnic Chinese community adding to the distinctly different food, music, arts and culture in the area. Sample some of the country’s premier Oolong tea from the plantations on Mae Salong, then take nature walks through tea and rice plantations and hill tribe villages. Arrive at Phu Chaisai in the evening.
Day 05: Chiang Rai
Spend your day at Phu Chaisai as you wish. The 800-acre estate property includes two water reservoirs, a natural spring-fed waterfall, the Mae Nam Kham River along the property’s northern border with Doi Tung, hundreds of varieties of native bamboo and tree species, an organic vegetable farm and fruit orchard. Wellness-oriented guests can enjoy spa treatments in open-air treatment rooms, private yoga sessions, dine on dishes crafted from locally-sourced farm-fresh ingredients, take walks along extensive gardens and farms. Other on-site activities include guided treks, bird watching, cooking classes, and horseback riding.
Day 06: Chiang Rai Departure
Enjoy your time at leisure and squeeze in one last yoga session and breakfast before your private transfer to the airport for your flight onward. Hope you had a wonderful Asia luxury holiday and wish that we could serve you next time.
